A large portion of Japanese martial art today was derived from Chinese Kung Fu. In the late Ming Dynasty, a Chinese Kung Fu master Chan went Japan to teach this ancient technique. It was a form of more subtle technique which can be used in hand-to-hand combat.
During that time, in Tokyo, people admired Confucian and Zen martial art. The sudden coming of Tao Jujitsu has made a lot of changes to the ancient form of martial art. Chinese Kung Fu is an ancient martial art condensed from thousands of years of combat experiences. This changed the habit of the Japanese who only knew sword, archery and sumo.
After 340 years of this Chinese master, another brave man went to the North America to show the world what Chinese Kung Fu is. His name is Bruce Lee. He brought Wing Chun of Yip Man discipline there. The world marveled at what this young man can do with this ancient art called Kung Fu.
The first place Bruce Lee went is San Francisco, where he continued his study. He worked part time to pay for the tuition and his only living. He was a very strong young man. He refused to ask his family to support him.
A man called Yeung received a letter from Lee's father asking for help for his son in San Francisco. Yeung went to San Francisco and talked to Bruce Lee knowing that he wanted to move to Seattle. Yeung assisted Lee.
Bruce Lee moved to Seattle and stayed there for a period of time. The weather was good and everything worked fine. He stayed with Yeung who was very good at Chinese Kung Fu and he taught Lee all kinds of Chinese Kung Fu.
